You are invited to:
An Afternoon with Cease Wyss & VUFS AGM
February 11, 2017, 1:00 to 3:00 pm
Trout Lake Community Centre, Lakewood Room
(3360 Victoria Drive, Vancouver)
Join Vancouver Urban Farming Society for an afternoon of reflection, planning and inspiration as we explore plants, food, and community as agricultural extension service. Indigenous plant educator Cease Wyss will kick off the event at 1:00 pm with a talk that will get us motivated for the year ahead. Afterward, you are invited to stay for the VUFS AGM from 2:00-3:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to get to know the VUFS staff and board, hear more about our projects from the past year, and help to shape our direction for 2017. Snacks will be provided!
Cease Wyss is an Indigenous plant educator and interdisciplinary artist of Skwxwu7mesh, Sto:Lo, Metis, Hawaiian, and Swiss ancestry. She has lived a rich cultural life in her traditional territories, working, learning, teaching, living, gathering medicines, creating art, building communities, and striving for a better living in other ways. Cease works in media technology and plant technology and loves to find ways to weave these together.
Attendance for the entire afternoon is $8 for VUFS Members and $10 for Non-members. There is also a ticketing option that will allow you to become a VUFS member so that you can save 20% on future workshops and events and support the success of urban farming throughout Metro Vancouver.
If you would like to attend the AGM only from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, admission is free. Please select the “VUFS AGM ONLY” ticket option on Eventbrite to RSVP.
